I love being a doula! I’ve been helping families with labor and birth since 2002. I am certified and trained through DONA International and Birth Arts International. I’ve been helping moms with breastfeeding since 2000 and am certified through the Healthy Children’s Project/Center For Breastfeeding. As a mother of four and former massage therapist I call on my personal experience with natural birth, breastfeeding, and touch, as well as my professional training while helping pregnant families with the challenges of childbirth.
I believe all women have the strength, courage, and heart to give birth naturally. We all come to birth with experiences that affect our confidence, and therefore our choices around childbirth. As a doula I use encouragement, information, positions, water, and touch to calm your anxieties and build strength for the birth you want. By providing you with education prenatally and supporting you with advocacy I help you build the tools you need for a better birth experience.
I care… about you, your baby, and your birth. My voice, my hands, and my heart are my best tools whether assisting with birth, post partum support, breastfeeding, or teaching childbirth education. My specialty is supporting women striving for natural birth and planned homebirth.
Birth is a beautiful, sacred time. I strive to help you birth your baby in a peaceful, healthy way that creates positive, empowering memories that last a lifetime. I feel blessed to be called to birth and to helping you on this very special day.
“Just as a woman’s heart knows how and when to pump, her lungs to inhale, and her hand to pull back from fire, so she knows when and how to give birth.” ~ Virginia di Orio
